The Citizen School grew out of the work developed by pioneering schools in the UK which engaged with Community Organising methodologies as a way to enhance their sense of mission and their impact on society.
We work – or have worked – with a range of schools and colleges, as well as various organisations interested in supporting young people and their families. Our work has supported people across the UK, as well as various countries across Europe.
We believe organisations working with young people and families have a vital role to play in the transformation of communities and of wider society. We equip leaders through the practices of community organising and enable them to deeply reflect on their approaches to social action as a way to better embed effective strategies across their programmes and institutions. We undertake research to support our aims and share the lessons through publications, training, and consultancy.
